Where to Study Chinese in China

Together   with   Beijing  and  Shanghai,  Tianjin  became one of  the three municipalities  directly under  the central government after the founding of  the People's Republic of China in 1949.  And  with  the a doption of  the  policy  to reform  and  open up  to the outside world in 1978, Tianjin, is among  the  first  coastal cities in China open up to the outside world.

Tianjin is the birth place of  the  first institution of higher learning in China and one of the important scientific and educational bases of the country.  There  are  over  40  institutes of higher learning, nearly 1,000  research  institutes, a large number of  experts  and  scholars famous  at  home and abroad. Tianjin Hi-Tech  Industrial Zone is one of  the first  national  new  and  high-tech industrial development zones in China.

Tianjin lies in China NP where standard Chinese (Mandarin) originated. It's adjacent to the capital city Beijing, 120 km  between  city centers but has the advantage of  much  lower  cost  of  living  and education. There is a non-stop  fast  shuttle-train system  between the two cities with trains running at intervals  of only 10-15 minutes and the trip just takes 30 minutes. If you feel like it, you can visit the capital city of China on week-ends conveniently by the shuttle train.

In  the  Outline of  the  Development  of National Economy and Society in People's Republic of China, which was approved in 2006, it is pointed out that the development and opening in Binhai of Tianjin after the 1st phase in Shenzhen of Guangdong and the 2nd phase in Pudong of Shanghai,  is  the 3rd phase  of  the  overall national  development  strategy  of China. In the  future,  efforts  will be made to  build Tianjin into  a first class  international  harbor city, economic city, economic center and ecological city.

Located  in  the  warm temperate zone,  Tianjin is   of   the  sub-humid    continental   monsoon climate.  As  it's   influenced   by  the  sea  and  ocean  in  summer  and   by  the  continent   in winter,  the  four  seasons  here  are  clear  cut.  The annual precipitation is  between   550   and  680 mm,   75%  of  which occurs  in June,  July and August.
